A letter from Mary, James Sunderland’s deceased wife, brings him back to the place where they made so many memories. There is just one problem: Mary died of a terminal illness three years ago.
Driven by guilt, grief, and a desperate shred of hope, James returns to the lakeside resort town of Silent Hill. What he finds is a desolate ghost town, choked by an unnatural, eternal fog and populated by grotesque, nightmarish manifestations of the human subconscious.
